Forced to make a blog post. My week-long off duty ends today and I can't believe I have not published a single entry about anything that has happened. Toothache's been taking all my power. I want my wisdom teeth to be pulled off right after my summer duty ends that's why I have no other option but to deal with the pain they cause me. Or I think I've eaten too much sweets. There were 3 celebrations held this week and all of them involved cakes. Pig much?

Speaking of celebrations, the last for this week, my Tita Pat's birthday, was held today. She invited us over for lunch. After pigging out, we just stayed in the sala. My cute little cousin, Inah, held me a photo album from which, according to her, she saw photos of me when I was still little. Before she opened the album she said, "Ate Tenten, tingnan mo, kamukha mo si Dora dito!". I already had an idea about my then look 'cause when I was little my haircut always involved bangs. As in straight bangs like Dora's. The time she showed me one particular picture, I instantly laughed my lungs out. It was a picture taken during our summer outing with my relatives. I was wearing two piece yellow bathing suit, doing the akimbo beside a palm tree, showing my oh-so-broken-and-decaying front teeth - most of which were color black. And what were my parents thinking for making me wear yellow without considering how it would only make my skin look? My skin tone wasn't as light as today. Haha. I think I was 4 or 5 years old then. Too bad I wasn't able to ask even for a copy. I'd love to show it here! Haha. Nonetheless, I'd love to share this one:

Oops, Diego is waiting for me! We gotta go before Swiper goes swiping!

No one can ever give the kind of love a mother can give to her children. Starting off with her 9-month sacrifice of carrying you inside her womb. The the awful back pain she felt while in labor. And then having you screamed out of this world. That's an experience no manly jobs could ever top.

I may sound like a gossiper but I would just like to share something. I always ride the LRT at least twice a week (going home on weekends and going back to Manila on a Sunday or a Monday). Going home last week, a mother and his daughter were sitting right across my seat on the other side of the train. The place wasn't that crowded so I had a full view of the two. I didn't really notice them at first until I overheard the mother talking to her daughter in a mad and kind of loud voice -- loud enough that it caught my attention. To make it short, the woman was apparently reprimanding her child for being so hardheaded and for causing her headaches all the time. The woman even asked the kid if she wants to stay with her daddy instead. The child wasn't answering. The next conversations became vague so I just looked at the two once in a while[1]. The woman looked like she was explaining something when I noticed her child cried. Then I heard her asking the child the same question, the kid embraced her mom, teared even more, and shook her head. The the woman hugged back.

Right then and there, the last time my mom and I had a misunderstanding flashed back through my mind. Days of ignoring each other gone by until one night I realized I couldn't take that set-up anymore. I reached for my mom and hugged her and said sorry. It was so tight that I didn't allow her to let go until she forgives me. That was by far the most unpleasant feeling and I won't ever allow that to happen again. My nanay is my best-est friend.

Meet my Nanay Venus, the goddess of our home (Yes, nay, it's so hard for me to say that but since it's your day, I'll set myself aside and give you the crown. Hahaha. Kidding :D). She looks cranky and snobbish for others. Some say she looks hard to get along with. But like what one cliche says, "Don't judge the book by its cover." My nanay is a very sweet, empathic, friendly, and jolly person. She has a soft heart, she can't resist to help those in need. She's kind of hard at times but she's a business woman so what do you expect? HEHE.

She's one hardworking woman. I remember she told me she only walked to school 'cause she only had twenty cents in her pocket. My lola insisted her to stop studying 'cause she couldn't support her anymore. But my nanay was determined to finish college so she worked for a small sewing business every night and attend school every morning. The fruit of her hard work? She was the only one who got a degree among her 6 siblings.

She has a looooooong patience. Sometimes she has to repeat her command at least 3 times before we obey her. She gets mad but the day won't pass and you'll see her hugging us again.

We come first and she remains humble. She buys stuff for us but she rarely buys for herself. When she buys her clothes she makes sure its cheap. That dress she wears in the picture, who would've thought she only bought that from Divisoria? Haha. I've always thought nanay has a bad taste about fashion and where to buy clothes from.

There are still gazillions of reasons why I am so proud of my mother. You don't want to read all that huh? But above all that, what's great is that she loves her family, unconditionally, with all her heart.

I LOVE YOU, NANAY!
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Today is the first day of my week-long break from hospital duties. The past weeks were so tiring. I remember I have said this phrase a few times: "Ayaw ko na mag-nursing." Haha. Nursing blues. That's what I always say when I'm tired and I feel like quitting but there's no way I would do that. Like what others always remind me, there's no point in quitting 'cause I'm already in my last year in college. And this is what i like. :)

Anyway, I was tagged by Krislea. This is my first time to do this. I still don't know what to blog about so I'll give this thing a shot.

Below are the instructions for this tag:
1. write anything about 15 persons you know
2. don't mention the names of these 15 persons you are referring to
3. if someone would ask who are these persons, don't tell them
4. tag 15 persons but don't include the persons you included in your post

And for my messages:

- My smile stretches big time when you're around. Not only because you're funny, but also because you have this good style of making my day. :D

- I still want to believe we are good but I don't know what's happening. I guess what some say is true. Same things don't go well together. But what's nice is that we're trying.

- I liked you before. Today is different.

- We have this filthy endearment but I like it. I miss you and the old times.

- You might feel that I don't treasure our friendship as much as you do but this I say.. I'll never be more thankful that you came.

- You're one of the reasons why I'm working so hard. Help us and always take care of yourself. We'll have you till the end, I assure you that. We'll do this all together.

- I like how you say my name in French though it sounds like a boy's name. And I find it odd how you spend time finding sites that teach French than studying for a major exam but then you still get high grades. Like, wth?

- I am sorry for not always keeping in touch. You exert so much effort but you receive less from me. You are so kind, I'm too selfish not to be guilty. Thank you for making me feel so appreciated. Thank you for being so patient and understanding.

- You teach me to value the things I have. I admire you for looking so content all the time in spite of your life's imperfections. And I thank you for believing that I will never judge you. You're right. Never.

- Just stop being stubborn and making us mad everyday. You are OK minus that attitude. The world faces a lot of problems now, don't give your share.

- I know I hurt you sometimes and make you feel I'm better than you. Sorry.

- Don't worry, I don't bite. There's more to me that being so silent most of the time. Show me your crazy side and I'll show you mine.

- I hope you're doing good. Think before you do things you want. It's for your sake.

- Someone said you like my attitude but I don't see that.

- It's your day tomorrow. Sorry if sometimes you feel I don't appreciate everything you do. Sorry if I go beyond the line and don't respect you. You are the best and I would not ask for someone as a replacement.

CHEEEEEEEESY!! The thought of them reading these messages without knowing that they're for them is very unjust. Haha.

I will now tag the following:
Arriane, Daine, Erin, Ethel, Grace, Ishmael, Joan, Kimi, Liza, Marla, Mitchie, Ate Rich, Trisha, Vhinnie, Wawa.

Happy blogging! ;)

Thursday night. While waiting for a primigravida's[1] cervix to be fully dilated, equipped enough to be able to let the baby pass, our clinical instructor allowed us to take a short break. While munching our snacks the news was telling about a street fight that happened in Baguio. Having my watch-full eye serving me well, I noticed the guy wearing doubly huge t-shirt over his huge body. Me was like, "Woot!" then I started ranting. It reminded me of some hip hop and ghettos[2] who wear over-sized t-shirt together with saggy pants settling over half of their butt.

I wonder how they manage to walk on that. No offense meant. I'm no fashion expert but I wonder what's their point of wearing it like that? To show off their puruntong[3]? Even my group mates wonder why. One even commented that those who dress like that look dirty. I thought so too.

What do you think?

[2] I don't know if it's the right label but I got to see someone wearing that saggy pants and huge shirts whom my friend labeled as a ghetto. Hip hops, as I observe, dress like that.
